Welcome To Kindergarten!

KINDERGARTEN WITH
MRS. NELSON!
My name is Kristen (Lepeska) Nelson and I am THRILLED to be your teacher this year!
It’s going to be a fun year filled with lots of learning and new adventures, and I can’t wait
to see what the year has in store for us! I want to know all about you, but first I am going
to tell you a few things about me.
I am originally from Montfort and graduated from Iowa-Grant in 2002. After graduating
from UW Platteville, I taught 4K at Belmont for three years. This is my 10th year teaching
and my 6th year teaching Kindergarten. I absolutely loved teaching 4K, but it’s amazing to
see how much Kindergarteners learn in a year!
My family and I have lived in Cobb for a year now and absolutely love it there!. My husband,
Brent, is an auditor at Johnson Block, an accounting firm in Mineral Point. We have 3
children, a cat (Kobe) and a fish (Blue).
Leah is 7 and is so much like me when I was little! She’s pretty quiet and is so helpful with
her brother and sister. She loves to draw, paint, do crafts, ride her bike, and read books. She
will be in 2nd grade this year.
Hannah is 5 and is the complete opposite of Leah. Hannah is not shy at all and has a mind of
her own! She loves to play with dolls, read books, color, climb, run, dance, play with playdoh
and is always loud and crazy! She is in Kindergarten this year and really wanted me for her
teacher! I said “NO WAY!” :)
Jonah is 2 ½ and is a mix of the his sisters. He usually is so calm and quiet, but he does like to
get wild and crazy like Hannah sometimes! He loves Paw Patrol, tractors, diggers, and playing
in the sand and dirt. He also loves to farm with his grandpa, aunt and uncle!
I love to tell stories about my own kids at school, so I am sure you will get to know them pretty
well! :)

Last post before you are officially 1st Graders!

Hello Almost First Graders!
Thursday is Back to School Night and I bet you all are so excited to find out who you have for a teacher! Will it be Mrs. Wasley, Ms. Lynch, Mrs. Zajicek, or Mrs. Pierick? You are lucky whoever you get!
I hope you have had a great summer! I was lucky to see a lot of you either at T-ball, daycare, or just at the store. I hope I recognize you when you come back to say hi... I bet you all have grown so much!
I had a great summer being at home with my kids. We went to Wisconsin Dells for a little vacation, but most of our time was spent going swimming or playing outside. Good news! We finally planted some grass this summer! Jonah is sad he doesn't have dirt to play with anymore, but he is getting used to playing with his tractors in his smaller sandbox. :)
See you soon!
