I *tried* to teach the kids about how dirty the ice and snow that they eat from the ground actually is! I had the kids bring me in lots of pieces of ice. I then asked them to grab a piece that looked yummy enough to eat... but not to actually eat it. Then we took a closer look to see what was actually in them. We sorted the big chunks by "clean" and "dirty". Then we picked a few small pieces and labeled them "very clean," "kind of clean" and "dirty."
I forgot to get a close up of the melted ice, but the "very clean" had a little dirt in it, the "kind of clean" didn't have an specs in it, but did look yellow, and the dirty was gross! We talked about what that yellow might be from... hopefully that sunk in!
I forgot to take pictures of all our dress up days.
Glasses day!
Mismatch day (or Mr. Match day as some thought it should be called!)
