Winter

I am sorry that I haven't updated with a new blog since before Christmas! My husband is an auditor and his busy season starts around mid December and goes until mid March. It takes a little while for me to adjust to having to leave school early to pick the girls up from daycare and him working until 7:30-9:00 every night and on weekends. Hopefully I will get used to it soon! :) Plus, I have been doing a lot of testing getting ready for report cards, benchmark testing and PALS testing (on Tuesday 1/27). It seems like all I have been doing is testing the kids... but on the bright side, I sure know what each and every child needs to work on!

Landon celebrated his half birthday last week. Happy half birthday, Landon!
After reading the book Snowballs, we made our own snowman out of the "stuff" that we brought. The kids sure got creative! They are so proud of their snowmen hanging out in the hall!

Centers
Snowflake Hunt- On each snowflake was a hidden sight word. The kids had to use magnifying glasses to find each one!
Scribble Journal- They had to make my "scribble" into something new and right about it.
Word Detective-
The kids used the beginning sound of each picture to make a new word. Then they drew a picture of each word and then wrote a sentence using one of the new words.
Snowball Poem- Each line of the poem is in a different color. First the kids had to sort the words by color and then put them in the right order on the sentence chart.
Write the Room-
The students had to find a word from around the room that started with a certain letter.
