Monday we went to the farm! We had a lot of fun and saw a lot of new things!
At the farm they have robots to milk the cows. This means that the cows can pretty much choose when they want to get milked... but they need to get milked before they can eat.
This is a picture of the computer screen to show which cows need to be milked soon. Sometimes the farmers have to go find them and encourage them a little to get milked.
There are cameras around the barn so they can check in on things when they are not around.

Sunny Santa :)
The feed the cows eat every day. We saw what all the different feed and vitamins look like before it gets mixed up and fed to them.
We had a "little wind" one day over the summer and it blew down the old milk barn that was holding calves and heifers. They are working on building a new heifer barn right now! It sure was busy on the farm that day. Not only were there 60 kindergartners, there were builders working and they were getting semi loads of corn for in the silos!
Mrs. Kelley taught us about the calves. She showed us how much they drink everyday and the kind of vitamins that they give them. The kids are always surprised how much they drink! (I wasn't able to get pictures because I was telling another class about the robots while my dad was helping with the semi load of corn.)
Thank you Lepeska/ Kelley family!
I forgot about posting these pictures a few weeks ago. We made skeletons with Q-tips and then I had the kids stand like their pictures!
We used tin foil to make those amazing fall trees that were hanging out in the hall.
For Veteran's Day we made a flag by making a chain. We thought it turned out pretty cool!
