Go, Pack, Go!

What a crazy week we had! With not having school on Monday, Tuesday and a late start Wednesday, we didn't get much done! We were able to read our big book "An Orange in January," and talked about how fruits, vegetables and milk gets from the trees/ cows, to the grocery store!
Our new sight words (yes WORDS!) were he and with.
On Friday we danced to the Packer Polka in the hall!

And made cheese heads! I even got a student that said his parents would disown him if he wore a cheese head to wear one! I told him that he could stay with me if he needed. :)

Open door Playtime!

I brought out my pencil dispenser today! (It's actually for straws, but works great for pencils!) It has been broken before, so I had a nice lesson on how to use it! Then, of course, all the kids had to try it out!

We are in need of CLEAN, DRY gallon milk jugs by the end of the month. If you have any, please send them our way!

I also just got an email for my update about the Symbaloo page. It didn't show up on the email, so I actually had to click on my blog page for it to open. Hopefully it works for you!

If you would like to order a class t-shirt for your child, please remember to send it back. If you need a new order form, please let me know.

Great Websites!

This is a link to my Symbaloo page. These are all apps or games that would be great for your Kindergartner!
I hope it works for you, let me know if it doesn't and I will try it again!

Aunts and Pajamas!

Our big question this week was How do living things change as they grow? Our main focus was on how trees grew. Our vocabulary words were amazing, content, develop, enormous and imagine. Most of the kids already knew most of these words! This week our new sight word was are.
I'm sure you have already heard about this, but Ms. Fenstermann had her baby last Saturday! Violet Rose was 6lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. I am on my way to see her as soon as I am done writing my blog. :)  Mrs. Kelley is her long-term substitute, so I am sure you are going to hear a lot about her!

Last month we we worked really hard on being responsible! At the end of the month Kayden was chosen from our class for being the most responsible! Way to go, Kayden! This month we are focusing on being Kind and Caring!

It was aunts to lunch this week! The kids were excited to show off their aunts to their friends! Thanks to all the aunts that could make it. Remember, lunch dates are always welcome, not just during certain weeks!

Friday was pajama day! It was the perfect day to have open door playtime, make a snowman project and stay inside for afternoon recess!

Today was the last day of the quarter so the teacher will be working hard to finish report cards on Monday... so no school for the kids!
Uncles to lunch is coming up next. They are invited to come the week of February 13th.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome Back!

What a fast week back! I loved having our sharing time on Wednesday morning and hearing about everyone's vacation! They were sure excited to share with everyone. Our big question was How does your garden grow? We have been working hard on our "books" this week. (The 5 pieces of papers stapled together). Some kids have finished 3 books, while others are on their first one... it all depends on the amount of detail each student wants to add. The kids love coming up with new topics to write about.
We added a new sight word on Wednesday- my.

Keep practicing them at home!

On Wednesday we celebrated Cooper's half birthday. Happy half birthday, Cooper!
On Friday we celebrated Charlie's half birthday! Happy half birthday, Charlie!
This sweatshirt has to belong to someone in our class... but know one will claim it! Let me know if you recognize it!
The books from our reading series are getting harder and harder, but we are doing amazing! Remember to practice reading with your child when they bring them home!

Today in math we worked with shapes. We put them together to make new shapes, too. This is one of the trickiest pages we have, but it is one of my favorites to do! I feel like such a mean teacher because I don't help them at all, but it is worth it when they finally get it and are so proud of themselves! (Tho one with the 4 triangles is the hardest one! We have to make the shapes fit into the big shapes.)

Aunts to lunch is this week (January 9-13)!  Lunch tickets can be purchased in the office prior to coming to the room.  We head down to lunch at 11:00am and recess is after at about 11:30am.

January 16th- No school.

Have a wonderful weekend!
