Our high school helper, Wyatt, had is last day on Tuesday. We loved having him come everyday this year. He came during free time and loved helping us read, practice sight words, hang up high things on the wall, and play games and legos with us!
I bought 3 watermelons this week... 2 for the classroom, and 1 for my family! 2 were similar in size, and one was ginormous! I had the kids used their muscles and estimating skills to see which one was heavier.
Since I didn't bring my scale to school, we wheeled all 3 watermelons across the school to the scale.
The 2 small watermelons weighed 20 3/4 and 21 1/2. The big one weighed 29 pounds!
Wednesday we popped a balloon and said "Gum Day!" The kids were trying so hard to blow bubbles! I'm sure you had no idea about this since I told them not to tell anyone! :)We pained watermelon by mixing colors. We knew watermelon have light green and dark green, so we mixed yellow and green to change the colors.
Brain breaks!
We acted out the Enormous Watermelon! Old Mother Hubbard planted a watermelon seed. It got so big that she needed help from Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, Little Miss Muffet and Wee Little Winky to pull it home!

16 people couldn't finish this 29 pounder! I had to take the rest home!

Reminder that the last day is an early release at 11:30!
Have a wonderful weekend! We only have 4 days left! :(
