This week we learned about the Gingerbread Man! This is one of my favorite weeks to teach! We could not say ‘go’ around him or he might take off! We either had to whisper it, or spell it. Sometimes Gingy will leave if it gets too noisy in here, but this year we were so quiet! He did leave the room a few times, but it was because he was looking for us. He liked staying in here as much as he could! On Thursday we made our own gingerbread boys/girls. And as Bently said, “We are making a family for Gingy!” When we got to school of Friday, all the gingerbread boys and girls were huddled around him. :)
On Wednesday we made gingerbread cookies. 18 out of the 19 kids tried them, and almost all of them liked them! The most popular way to eat them was eating the leg first.
We read many different versions of The Gingerbread Man! Sometimes there was a fox at the end of the story, sometimes a wolf, and sometimes he never got eaten at all!
Since the beginning of this week was very rainy, we watch the movie Inside Out in Mrs. Mayne's room. This is such a cute movie and a great way to talk about feelings!
One day we found Gingy outside Mrs. Mayne's room with Taylor's coat on!
Making cookies.
We decorated our own Gingerbread boys and girls. During buddy time this week, the 4th graders helped us write a silly story of an adventure that they went on!
