This week we learned about fall. We learned a lot about animals that hibernate in the winter. We found out that lots more animals hibernate than bears, like snakes, turtles, snails and bumble bees. When an animal is hibernating, their heart beat slows WAY down, some only beat 1 every 100 minutes and a snail can hibernate for up to 3 years!
One of our projects we made was a bear hibernating on leaves in a cave.
On Tuesday, Mrs. Ostrem was here so that I could do some testing with the kids. The kids had a fun morning watching Finding Nemo! I am excited to talk about the results with you at conferences.
I am excited that the kids are becoming more confident with sounding out words. We wrote some sentences about what we liked, saw, or could do.
We have added another word to our sight word list.

Monday morning, the kids were surprised by the special area teachers with a PING PONG BALL CELEBRATION! Each time they have a great day in a special area class (Music, Guidance, Library or Art), they get a ping pong ball. As a grade, when we earn enough for our goal, we get a celebration. Ask your child what they got to do this time!
Remmington, Maddy, Zane and Kyleigh can tie their shoes! Yay! A few more are getting very close! Keep practicing at home!
(He had to borrow someone's shoe today) :)
This is a picture of our "Special to Me" table!
Wednesday was Kimberly's Birthday, and Sunday was Harlei's! Happy 6th Birthday, girls!
~On October 31st, the kids have an option to either dress up in their Halloween costumes or dress as a scarecrow. It is your choice, but we are encouraging you to choose a scarecrow because we have our Harvest Celebration that day and make our Harvest Mix.
Kid Quote of the Week
When Aiden and Maddy bumped heads when they went for the same puzzle piece, Aiden said, “She has a harder head than I do!” Then they started knocking on each other’s heads to see who had the hardest. :)
Friday is also an EARLY RELEASE DAY!
Class pictures and playtime fun!
Doing math quietly on the carpet because our tables were still a mess from our project!
