We learned about bugs this week! Your children were lucky enough to go other classrooms and learn about a bug with a different teacher. Monday they went to Ms. Fenstermann's room and learned about fireflies, Tuesday they learned about ants with Mrs. Mayne, and Wednesday they learned about ladybugs with Ms. Breuer, and they learned about dragonflies with me! I hope they came home and told you about the cool facts they learned about (or song they sang) each day!
This week was the first time we had 4th grade buddies! Every day E we will be meeting with them in the hall for 15 minutes to read a book, or once in a while, do a small project.
We have been in school for 4 weeks and we already have learned 3 sight words- I, can, the! It is amazing how smart they feel already! Those small, one page books are a great way to encourage their love for reading!
On Wednesday we had Johnny Appleseed and his gang come! The kids had a great time!
The kids are loving the playdough that has been sent! I feel bad that I have to limit it to 8 kids at a time, but we don't have enough tools and cutters for everyone to play at the same time! They think they are just playing, but don't realize that they are also working on sharing, letters (when using the letter cut outs), and strengthening their hands!
Friday was homecoming! We showed our panther spirit it by wearing red and black!
I love how more and more kids are feeling more comfortable doing brain breaks with us! These are perfect for when we have been working so hard and just need a few minutes of fun!
The week of November 18th we will be having moms come to lunch! I know it is over a month away, but we wanted to give you time to plan! Moms can come to lunch with their child any day that week.
You may have noticed on the calendar that it only says grades 1-3 Christmas concert this year. We have decided not to include Kindergarten in this program for a few different reasons. 1. Because some of the songs a little hard for Kindergartners to learn, and 2. There are a lot of kids up on stage and it’s hard to see them! Instead we are doing a Kindergarten Christmas program in Room 100 on December 7th at 2:00! We will be doing something small in the cafeteria after. More information will follow, but we wanted parents to have a heads up so everyone can make plans ahead of time! (And as a parent of a Kindergartner, I am so excited for this change! I am so glad my family will be able to actually see Leah on stage, and we will be singing those cute Christmas songs. :) )
If you haven't sent a white T-shirt for your child's birthday, please remember to do so!
